Jacob has a cat that has taken the place of his beloved dogs. The kitty's name is Mary I am told. Jacob and Mary are going to get married. Mary talks to Jacob and only Jacob. He calls her on his phone as soon as he gets in the van after school to check on her. She eats under his chair while he eats at the table. She waits for him at the back door while he is gone. Every box that comes into our house is cut into something for Mary--a new house, a bed, a boat...
